Do you like contradictions? What appears from afar to be a modern, geometric piece, on closer inspection is actually origami made with pages of a vintage German novel from 1928. 
 
This piece evolved from a mistake. I had wanted to make a piece using the pages of this book for a while because I thought the gothic lettering would look stunning. My plan was use a white background. As an artist I like to experiment and see where it takes me. So when i realised i had misjudged the width, rather than throw it in the bin, I took it as an opportunity to create a new design. I feel the black and white background combo in this design give it a striking look from a distance as well as the gothic lettering creating interest for the viewer when you take a closer look. The black creates a greater contrast and emphasises the 3D effect, and the diagonal echoes the angles of the pyramids.
 
This piece of book art is a must have to decorate your home, you just never knew you wanted one because as far as I know, I´m the only person who makes them.
